The phone is ringing, a text is coming in, the kids are running around, & you are running late. If it’s not kids, it’s pets, your spouse or emails. You name it we are always in a rush. We are going crazy. It’s a busy world, & we are all in it.
I remember about a couple of years ago when I had to take a shower, get dressed, eat a little something, run out the door & head to the office. It was chaos in my head. I didn’t stop for a minute to think about what I was doing. I was just going & going. I am fortunate that I don’t have kids. I don’t know how my nieces do it with their children, husbands a career & pets. I don’t know. But, one thing I do know is that I figured it out.
Slow Down & Enjoy the Moment
I made the decision that my health meant a lot to me. Running around like a chicken without a head was making me physically sick. Have you ever stopped to think "why am I rushing"? I did & when I answered it truthfully. I realised I was the main culprit. We all have the same amount of time in one day. It’s what we do with it that makes the difference.
I get it. Slowing down is hard, & you live in a world that is moving very fast. What can you do?

It might seem general, but be choosy with your tasks. Make sure it matters.
Yes, ask those around you to help. Make it fun, negotiate & start taking some tasks off your plate.
Make a plan follow the schedule & make sure to include time for you.
Wake up earlier
I know you are already waking up early, but if you wake up just half an hour before you usually wake up, you can get it a little more into your day.
Take deep breaths
Before every task, stop take a deep breath & be intentional about what you are about to do. Taking deep breaths will help you enjoy the task or just acknowledge that you are present. That will help you slow down & enjoy more.
In summary, yes it’s all great but, if you don’t take the time to make minor changes in your daily tasks, you will never see a difference. Your health matters, make it about you & slow down. Do it for you. Feel better & enjoy life a little bit more.
