How to Keep Yourself from Feeling Emotionally Drained This Christmas
Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy & jubilation, yet, for some people, the Holiday Season has a tendency to be a time of tumult & stress. For people who find themselves filled with anxiety around Christmas time, seeing other people enjoy the festivities of this so-called "magical time of year" can be isolating.
During the Christmas season it is easy to find yourself emotionally drained with all that is happening around you. It is important to remember to take care of yourself, as well as others, to ensure everyone has a happy holidays.

Get Some Sleep
With so many Christmas parties to attend, & so many gifts to buy & wrap, who has time for a solid 8 hours of sleep a night?
While it can be hard to leave an event early or not watch old holiday movies into the wee hours of the morning, getting a good nights rest is crucial to recharging not only your body, but your mind.
Waking up well rested will enable you to think clearly & logically, & will leave you less likely to feel overwhelmed. Getting enough sleep throughout the Holiday Season is the first step in keeping yourself charged up for all the jolliness of the Holidays.
Christmas is a time for indulgence. Food & drink consumption is plentiful & this can leave you feeling sluggish & worn out.
Working off those extra holiday pounds & kilos will not only improve your physical state, but the release of endorphins during exercise will increase your mood & decrease your stress levels. During the Holiday Season (& throughout the rest of the year), make exercise a regular part of your self care routine. Not only is exercise great for maintaining a healthy weight, it's also a great way to boost your mood & is essential for brain health & improved mental function.
Finding downtime during the busy Christmas period can be difficult, however it is important for your own wellbeing.
