5 Easy Ways to Use Activated Charcoal in Your Beauty Regimen

When it comes to natural beauty products, time & time again, the beauty industry finds itself flooded with fads & products which tout themselves as a "beauty miracle", or "the next best thing", etc. Natural beauty products have a tendency to crop up, take the market by storm & then fade away when they don't live up to the expectations that the marketing teams behind these products create. A large number of us will have tried green coffee beans, garcinia cambogia & other all-natural miracle cures.

All of that being said, there are rare instances when an all-natural beauty product totally lives up to its hype. Products like coconut oil & Essential Oils are among the rare exceptions. Another, more recent exception to the rule? Activated charcoal.

The Truth About Activated Charcoal

What's the Deal With Activated Charcoal?

Activated charcoal is an extremely porous substance which helps to detoxify your body. Before you think the health claims surrounding charcoal sound unbelievable, or too good to be true, consider the fact that, if you have an allergic reaction or experience a drug overdose, doctors use activated charcoal to draw the allergen or the drugs out of your body. If you've ever experienced the horror of having to rush your dog to the veterinarian after he consumed something he shouldn't have, it's extremely likely that activated charcoal played a significant role in saving your dog's life.

If you're still not convinced, the next time you find yourself plagued by flatulence, take some activated charcoal tablets & see how quickly the gas pains ease.

The porousness of activated charcoal allows it to naturally draw out & bind with toxins found in your body. Charcoal is typically made from coconut shells, or oak branches which means it is a natural & renewable resource. It's important to note that activated charcoal is not the same as the charcoal bricks you might use in your barbecue.
