Essential Oil Recipe to Relieve Nerve Pain
I don't know if you've ever experienced the debilitating pain associated with nerve pain, but if you haven't, count yourself lucky & say your prayers that you'll never find yourself in a situation where you've got a pinched, damaged or exposed nerve. While pain of any degree is unpleasant, it is a useful function of the nervous system. Pain alerts the brain to danger which is necessary for self-preservation. Sometimes, however, things go horribly wrong & the nervous system goes haywire, or, an injury or accident causes irreparable damage to a nerve which leads to severe pain. Diseases such as cancer, HIV, diabetes, shingles, & various autoimmune disorders can lead to nerve pain & nerve damage.
Anyone who has experienced nerve pain will tell you that it is one of the worst, if not THE worst, pain they have ever felt. There are a number of over-the-counter treatment available for nerve pain, however, depending upon the severity, these treatments tend to do little to dull the pain. There are also highly effective treatment available through your doctor, however, many of these drugs are addictive & lead to dependancy issues.
There are also a number of natural treatments available for nerve pain. Many doctors recommend acupuncture, osteopathy & physiotherapy to improve mobility & reduce pain. Using Essential Oils in conjunction with any of these therapies helps to improve the effectiveness of the treatment.

Essential Oil Recipe to Relieve Nerve Pain
The following recipe should be diluted into into your favourite carrier oil. My personal preference in coconut oil, but you can use olive oil, or any other cold-pressed vegetable oil you have handy.
- 16 drops - Chamomile Essential Oil
- 12 drops - Marjoram Essential Oil
- 12 drops - Helichrysum Essential Oil
- 8 drops - Lavender Essential Oil
Once you have combined the Essential Oils with the coconut oil, or which ever oil you used, wait 24 hours so that the oils have had time to settle. You can then apply this massage oil to affected areas throughout the day, as needed. To keep the Essential Oils in this recipe from going bad, be sure to store your massage oil in a glass amber bottle, & keep out of direct sunlight.
For a more potent mixture, St. Johns Wort Herbal Oil can be used as a base instead of carrier oil.
